Abstract

This study intends to determine geothermal anomalies area using remote sensing data in the form of Landsat 8 and ASTER satellite imagery data which have Thermal Infrared Sensor (TIRS). Through pre-processing like georeferencing, radiometric calibration, and atmospheric correction, the Landsat 8 TIRS and ASTER data were wont to invert the land surface temperature of the study area during the daytime and night time using the inversion of planck function and emissivity separation algorithm. Result shows the land surface temperatures during daytime and night time of four natural land cover —water, vegetation, built up area, and bare soil—were classified and analyzed. According to the results, vegetation and bare soil show relatively thermal anomalies during the day and comparatively cold anomalies during the night. Otherwise water shows relatively cold anomalies during the day and relatively thermal anomalies during the night. Meanwhile built up area shows relatively thermal anomalies during the day and cold anomalies during the night. Superimposed and calculating mean of the night and day surface temperature can adequately eliminate the relatively cold/thermal anomalies of land cover caused by solar radiation, thus effectively highlighting geothermal anomalies. Thus, Nine geothermal anomalies areas were successfully extracted.

Abstract

Currently implementation progress of green concrete (porous concrete0 is still very slow. The sustainable construction launched by the government has also not received a positive response from the construction sector. Greenery Open Spaces (RTH) and urban spatial planning in Indonesia have not accommodated the type of water-friendly pavement (porous concrete). Buildings that must meet the 30% of Green Base Cooeficient (KDH) also have not included the criteria for water-friendly concrete pavements. From the results of the Multi-Dimensional Scaling (MDS) analysis using Rapfish-R, it is known that the sustainability status of porous concrete is at a score of 71.9 (sufficiently sustainable). There is no leveraging factors from the ecological dimension. Leverage from economic dimensions, i.e.: added value for customer, durability and installation costs. Institutional dimensions, i.e.: application of ecolabels, product standards and criteria for RTH and KDH. Socio-technical dimension, i.e.: public understanding and perception, certification scheme, role of media, design and maintenance. From this leveraging factors, then can be formulized the strategy and roadmap for supporting the sustainable construction related to green concrete application

Abstract

Abstract: The protected forest of Mount Mekongga is the upstream of three major rivers that empties into Kolaka Regency and North Kolaka Regency, which play an important role in the lives of the surrounding community. The conditions that have occurred so far have been threatened in the form of encroachment, illegal logging, and animal hunting. This is a threat that will lead to forest area degradation in the future. The purpose of this study was to identify and assess the potential of tourism resources in the protected forest of Mount Mekongga. Data collection was carried out in March-July 2022, data collection methods tended towards field observations and visual observations, in-depth interviews were conducted with the community and managers, and literature studies. Tourism potential analysis refers to the assessment criteria of Avenzora (2008) which include 7 associative criteria, namely uniqueness, rarity, beauty, seasonality, accessibility, sensitivity, social function. The tourism potential assessed is the potential for natural tourism, consisting of flora, fauna, natural phenomena. Abstract

The assessment of the oil palm plantations impact on biodiversity mostly compares oil palm plantations to natural forests. But in reality, most land cover type before oil palm plantations establishments are no longer primary forest. Observations were made on 2 large holding plantations (PSB) in West Kalimantan Province. Tracking data on the origin of land cover types was carried out by interview method and analysis of interpretation of land-satellite imagery. The results showed that the baseline PSB studied were shrubs/fields and secondary forests. The number of species (mammals and birds) in the oil palm area is higher than the baseline area. PSBs establishment that are originally in the form of shrubs/fields has affect in increasing diversity of mammals (3 species) and birds (11 species). The same results are also shown in areas that are originally in the form of secondary fields and forests, has also increased the number of species of mammals (5 species) and birds (18 species). Thus, it can be concluded that the land cover changes in 2 oil palm plantations studied has a positive impact on the mammals and birds’ species diversity

Abstract

Actually in the past, rural people of West Java had in-depth local knowledge on various species of birds. Nowadays, the local people's knowledge on the bird species is being eroded due to the erosion of the local language and the bird population decreasing in the village ecosystem. The purpose of this study was to elucidate the knowledge of bird species, and the socio-economic, cultural, and ecological functions, and various disturbances to bird populations. The research was conducted in Bojongsalam and Sukaresmi Village, Rongga Sib-District, West Bandung, Cisokan Watershed, West Java. The method used in this study was a qualitative method, some techniques, including observation, participatory observation, and deep interview with informants were employed in this study to collect the primary data. The results showed that based on the local knowledge of the rural people, 74 species of birds were documented. The birds are classified by rural people based on body size, body feather color, type of habitat, and bird behavior. Bird species have an important role for socio-economic, cultural and ecological functions. Disturbance to bird populations, among others, due to the construction of the Cisokan hydropower project.

Abstract

Land demands increase with the rise of population and regional development. This results in considerable pressure on forest resources which is characterized by an increasing rate of deforestation. To further explore the impact of deforestation and forest management in regional planning process, this study specifically aimed 1) to identify patterns of land use/land cover changes, 2) to analyze driving factors and 3) to model future land use/land cover. This study employed Landsat imageries to construct land use/land cover maps and their variation across time. Driving factors were analyzed using binary logistic regression. Land use prediction was made through Artificial Neural Network approach. Multitemporal analysis indicated that the research area experienced a decreasing trend of natural forest and shrubs, with substantial extension of existing plantation forests, plantations, agricultural lands and settlements. Indicated driving factors included accessibility, slope class, soil type, forest permit, forest function, RTRW and population density. A forecast in 2030 suggested that natural forests and built-up land would increase from current figures.

Abstract

Indonesia is experiencing dynamic land change. One area in Indonesia that has experienced high land use change is Central Cikarang District. Landsat 9 image sensing and land cover data from the Ministry ofEnvironment and Forestry show the increased temperature in the Central Cikarang District area since 2004. Based on the NDVI analysis, the residential area has increased, and the area of green vegetation hasdecreased. Analysis of temperature changes using satellite imagery also shows a wider distribution of hot temperatures in the 2004–2022 range. From the two data analyses that were carried out, a regression test was carried out to determine the correlation between air temperature and vegetation density. The results of the regression test obtained an R2 value of 7.2%. It is also known that the value of the regression coefficient is negative, which means that the correlation of the two data is inversely proportional. So this research analyzes changes in land cover to changes in temperature.

Abstract

Slow-release fertilizer (SRF) with chitosan (CS) coating as a supply of plant nutrients is an alternative to the efficient use of conventional chemical fertilizers and reduces environmental pollution. However, its potential in woody plants is limited. This study aimed to analyze the effect of SRF on Falcataria moluccana germination and SRF phosphorus release rate. This study used SRF from polymerizing CS with methacrylic acid (MAA) to trap nutrients (CS-PMAA-nutrients SRF). The seeds of F. moluccana were germinated at six concentrations SRF: without fertilizer (F0), SRF CS dose 0.5% weight 0.03 g (F1), SRF CS 0.5% 0.01 g (F2), SRF CS 0.7% 0.03 g (F3), SRF CS 0.7% 0.01 g (F4), and conventional fertilizer (F5) for 21 days. SRF can increase the germination of F. moluccana. F4 increased normal sprout (10%) and germination power (16%) of F. moluccana. Furthermore, SRF with a concentration of 0.01 g produced a higher germination value than a concentration of 0.03 g. The release rate of SRF’s nutrients was slower (91.80% phosphorus) than conventional fertilizers. SRF application can reduce nutrients lost and increase the efficiency of nutrient absorption. Hence, it can improve F. moluccana growth.

Abstract

Lutung Sentarum (Presbytis Chrysomelas spp cruciger) is a member of the Presbyis tribe. Langur Sentarum (Presbytis Chrysomelas Cruciger) is one of the endemic animals in West Kalimantan with unprotected status, but is vulnerable to extinction. The study was conducted to obtain data on the demographic parameters of animal populations and their management in the Sepandan Resort area. The research was conducted through field observations to obtain data on demographic parameters with the concentration count method based on consideration of the characteristics of species distribution and field conditions in the research area. Population size data collection was carried out at 15 observation points, which were spread across all habitats types in the research study area. Observations or population size calculations at one point were carried out three times, namely in the morning (06.00 – 08.00), afternoon (12.00 – 14.00) and afternoon (16.00 – 18.00), and three replicates were carried out. The results of data from Lutung sentarum at the Sepandan resort found 8 groups from 2 areas, namely in Pelaik hamlet 2 groups and in Kedungkang hamlet 6 groups. Each group relatively had 1 adult male. Total individuals found were 58 individuals consisting of: 8 adult males, 25 adult females, 5 juvenile males, 18 juvenile females and 2 chicks. The total number of adult males and juveniles is 13 individuals and the total number of females is 43 individuals. The results in the sex ratio calculation of the encounter of 8 groups consisting of 13 males and 43 females were composed of sex ratio values of 1: 3. Total natality value of 8 groups of langur sentarum is 0.08.

Abstract

Taman Wisata Alam (TWA) Sumber Semen merupakan satu-satunya kawasan konservasi yang terletak di Kabupaten Rembang. Kawasan ini ditetapkan sebagai kawasan lindung oleh dua kementerian dan dipertegas dengan keputusan presiden. Salah satu alasannya kawasan ini merupakan kawasan imbuhan air terbesar di Kabupaten Rembang yang masuk bagian Pegunungan Karst Kendeng Utara. Akan tetapi beberapa pihak kurang menyadari nilai yang dimiliki TWA Sumber Semen sehingga kemauan untuk berpartisipasi dalam mengelola kawasan masih rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi potensi, mengestimasikan nilai ekonomi total kawasan dan menentukan tingkat ketergantungan masyarakat terhadap TWA Sumber Semen. Hasil eksplorasi menunjukkan keanekaragaman flora teridentifikasi sebanyak 124 jenis. Keanekaragaman fauna diidentifikasi 6 jenis burung, 1 mamalia, 2 herpetofauna dan kupu-kupu. Pemanfaatan air dilakukan untuk kegiatan wisata, irigasi pertanian dan pemenuhan kebutuhan air bersih rumah tangga. Hasil estimasi minimal dari cadangan karbon sebesar 468,31 ton/ha. Estimasi nilai ekonomi total kawasan sebesar Rp 12.486.219.121/tahun. Nilai ekonomi paling besar diperoleh dari irigasi pertanian dan pemenuhan kebutuhan air bersih rumah tangga. Tingkat ketergantungan masyarakat dapat dilihat dari analisis manfaat ekonomi. Hasil analisis manfaat ekonomi berupa share penerimaan dari TWA terhadap penerimaan total termasuk dalam kategori sangat rendah (18%). Sedangkan covering penerimaan dari TWA terhadap pengeluaran rumah tangga termasuk kategori rendah (25%).
